Dear Parishioners,

As you will have already heard, the Government of Ontario is imposing further lockdown measures starting Saturday. This means more changes for us. Unfortunately, we cannot continue with our Triduum registrations as we had planned due to the reduction of persons allowed in the church at one time. With the current restrictions we are allowed a limit of 15% capacity.

As this is the case, we have put on our website a new set of registrations for the Triduum starting with the Easter Vigil, and for the week following, the Easter Octave. I regret to say that this means that even if you have registered already, you will have to register again, and may not get a seat for the for the Vigil. Unfortunately, there is nothing that we can do about this. We are subject to the rules put forth by the government. Please take the time to register for the new schedule we have put together.

I am still waiting on the Archdiocese to send further instructions, which may bring further changes or restrictions. However, working from the instructions recently sent, we will organize all Masses at our parishes to be registration only Masses as long as the Ottawa area remains in “grey lockdown”. Practically this means that we keep our current weekday and weekend schedule (see bulletin). I would ask you to pick one Mass per week to attend so as to make room for other parishioners to make weekly Mass which would count as your Sunday obligation.

Also, I want to encourage you to not lose sight of the immensity of the solemnities we are celebrating this week. It is by the death of Christ that the power of sin and death was defeated so that you and I may not die forever. It is by His resurrection that we may rise again to a glorified eternal existence. We were purchased at the price of His blood (Revelation 5:9), and owe everything to Him. Let us give God our all this weekend so as to fulfill all that is right and just. “Very truly I tell you, whoever obeys my word will never see death” (John 8:51).
